Hello,

You are receiving this email because you have attended the Bible Translation Conference in Dallas, Texas, in the past, you have expressed interest in hearing about future conferences, or attendance at the conference may be within your professional interest.

I am pleased to give you this information about the upcoming biennial Bible Translation Conference. You may have already gotten this information from another source, but I don't want anyone to miss out on this tremendous opportunity. In particular, please note the abstract deadline.

We are excited about the ways this conference has been used over the years to encourage the Bible translation community. At our last conference in 2013 there were 400 Bible translators, linguists, literacy specialists, anthropologists, sign language and orality specialists, consultants, and other professionals in attendance. They came from over 100 service fields, 64 countries, and 70 Bible translation organizations and training institutions. There were 90 presentations on topics of interest to the Bible translation community. The next conference will continue the trend!

The upcoming Bible Translation Conference will be October 16-20, 2015, in the Dallas, Texas, area, near the International Linguistics Center. See a further note below about the conference location.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES:

Before you make your travel plans, look at the website for other opportunities/events/workshops in Dallas that may occur before or after the BT2015 Conference that may also be of interest to you. These events are not sponsored by the BT Conference, but we post them as we become aware of them.

THE LOCATION FOR BT2015 IS DIFFERENT:

For the past seven BT Conferences, the location has been the International Linguistics Center. We have outgrown the ILC. We looked extensively at different hotels, convention centers, university campuses, and churches in the area for a facility that could hold the conference, still be close to the ILC, and not add dramatically to the registration costs for attendees. Duncanville First Baptist Church has offered their facility to us at a sacrificial rate. They are just 3.5 miles from the ILC and 1.5 miles from our Banquet location (Hilton Garden Inn).

ACTION STEPS:

1. This Call For Papers informs you of the theme for the 2015 Conference. You are encouraged to submit an abstract. We will accept abstracts until May 1, 2015.

2. Please plan to attend BT 2015, October 16-20.

3. Please help us spread the word by forwarding this email to interested colleagues.
