Anki
As Peter B. posting gamification for scriptural engagement. I think these existing tools can be good places to start. We can using memrise as tools for vernacular Biblical Term or glossary. These can also be tools to train your MTT or other team members. I thought someone is working on project converting FLEX(Fieldwork Language Explorer) data for Anki format. However, for memrize the offline version is not free. I think Anki is a free tool. Both with mobile apps.

Yes Ankidroid is one of a large number of open sources apps which means it is free to adapt and localize. Could be used for language learning, scripture memorization, key terms, or learning anything you can put onto cards and test yourself on. I used it for learning vocabulary a couple of years ago and found it very helpful. For more details see http://ankisrs.net/ https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=com.ichi2.anki&fdpage=4
