Alexey Somov of the Institute for Bible Translation has discovered a funny translation mistake in ParaTExt 7: the deutrосcanon has a new book, namely "The Beauty and the Beast" (Красавица и чудовище). "Bel" was obviously taken as a French word, and thus the dragon became the Beast.

Response 1: Rumor has it that Paratext 8 will also add "Aladdin" and "The Little Mermaid" to the list of Deuterocanonical books. "The Lion King" is coming with Paratext 8.1. (Joke). Response 2: I've passed this onto the Paratext developers. Is the correct Russian Бел и Дракон? Response 3: "Bel" is a French word but the masculine form of the adjective "Beau" before a vowel. The feminine adjective and the name of the character in Beauty and the Beast is "Belle." Is the character's name in Russian Бел or Белле ?

Actually, in the Synodal Orthodox Version which contains deuterocanonical books, the book does not exist separately, but as a part of the book of Daniel (ch 14). ParaTExt should either use "Вил и дракон" ("Vil = Вил" is used in the Synodal) or "Бел и дракон" ("Bel=Бел" is used in the Contemporary Russian version in Isaiah, 46:1 and Jeremiah, 51:44 - CRV does not have deuterocanonical books, nor a ch 14 in Daniel).
