We live in a time where more languages have been translated than at any other point in history and have more scripture available . Than at any other time . And yet it's not common knowledge how to access these scriptures when we have the opportunity to share them with someone that we meet perhaps an immigrant . For example I was taking an Uber ride home from the airport the other day and the driver turned out to be from Ethiopia and I asked him what languages he spoke and he gave me two languages from Ethiopia . This Web site called Find the Bible you can see find out bible . It's also known as FIND A BIBLE is one way that you can find resources in somebodies language and this is how you do it . It's very mobile friendly so you can use it on your phone or on your browser on your computer so you'd click on the country Ethiopia . You can also search and then you can . Thumb through the existing digitally available resources each language of Ethiopia is listed and you can ask the person hey what languages do you speak and this man said to get into and Amharic you can see typically there will be languages that are the biggest languages and have a lot of resources like this one has 19 and this one has 12 . So you can go to the Tigrinya language and you can say OK I want a Bible into getting Yes there's Bibles there's films like the Jesus film and there are other resources like the global recording's network audio files and those are many of them downloadable straight from those links there that you can find . And this one to getting your common language Bible is available in audio or in print so you can go straight to the audio and listen to it . Let's take a look at Matthew chapter 5 . And let's listen to that . So in just a few moments I can find the audio Bible in this man's language right there on find out bible . Often when you're working with immigrants the immigrants might not be able to read their own language . So one other digital available resource is Bible doc is . You can look that up on your browser and you can also download the app . But if you want to look for the Bible in Ethiopia in different languages of Ethiopia and especially audio form Bible doc is specializes in audio bibles . So one way to look for audio Bibles you click on the version and you can search for languages on their . And there it is available from the United Bible Society in both print and in audio . So one important skill to develop when you're sharing the Bible with people that you encounter is that you can share the app so you can do this from your phone . So when you meet somebody you can select this share button and be able to share the app . It's in 1236 languages . Turns out you can share it . You can take this link and actually share the app with people by e-mailing the app to them or by texting the app to them and the phone you click the share button and it uses a share app you click the share button you post it . You can paste it right into the Uber comments that you send back to the driver and you can paste it you can text it to somebody you can e-mail it to them so anybody with a smartphone you can text you can text them the link to share the app or if you prefer . You can actually go and say well I want to share this verse of Matthew so you might be looking at it in English as Matthew fiber's to say OK this first I got to share that with him . And then you go into this highlighting mode and you can click on there and say OK I'm going to share with that link . I can . I can actually share that with him and you can do this on your phone or you can e-mail it this way . You could share it on Facebook . You know so there are many ways to share scriptures in an attic or in whatever language you want . Twelve hundred and thirty six languages to be exact . But if you want to also there's another way to share versus just in the same way many scriptures are on you version that are not on Bible . Is e-version tends to specialize in text but also has a lot of audio's . So if you don't find what you're looking for on Bible it is you can go over to the U version app download the app or you can put it on your computer browser . I recommend the app and you can go straight in to read the Bible now . And . If you want to change the version you can switch the language change the language . And so if I want to define the same language it's a little tricky to locate sometimes in since there are more than 1000 languages . It gets difficult to find . And one thing to note is that the languages at the bottom of the list are the languages in other alphabets . You go all the way to the bottom of the list and you start finding some of the languages the one you want might be down in the bottom of the list . So there's TEI there's Tibetan . So you can see that you can find Iranian Turkman . Let's go ahead and select a Bible an Iranian Turkman . So there are many many opportunities to share Scripture with people so to share as scripture this way . There is a share button you can highlight the Scripture and you can click share and choose one of your methods here . Alternatively you can just take this . Luke Fyffe link and you can email that to somebody you can put it on Twitter . You can do anything you want with it and it will share this scripture with people so you can text that to an immigrant who speaks that language and that way you can say hey I want to share this scripture in their language with that person . Similarly there's a Jesus film media app and Web site you can download the app for yourself and you go into onto your phone and you going to watch on your browser or you can use the app and there are 15 100 languages that have the Jesus film recorded . And dubbed . So in order to go in and watch the Jesus film in a particular language you say watch the film now and then at the bottom of the page instead of English . You select one of the 1429 or 1491 other languages and you go to the language list and you can go down here and select from this list any of the ones that you want . Algerian Arabic for example . So suddenly you click on that and you should see the face of somebody who speaks Algerian Arabic when they see Jesus speaking their language . And that's as it is . But if you need print on demand the current web site for that is called Virtual storehouse dot org . And you can select from a variety of languages and do printing on demand and have them mailed to you . And there are Americas Africa Asia Pacific . Different language context and you can select and search and hope to find the right one at virtual storehouse dot org . Another Web site with recording's in many many different languages is global recording's network and these are gospel recordings not scripture recordings . And so say you hear about a language in India and you want to find some recordings in that language say all you can do is search for that language . And now you're faced with a wide variety of all possibilities . So say you suspect it might be northern or will you click on there and they've got videos that are storybooks in or out . And so . One way to do kind of a language survey of the different possible languages is to check with somebody and say hey is this the older owl that you learn that you know and then switch to a different or out and say hey is this the older owl that you know and they've gotten many many different languages that you can pick from and they have a lot of very specific dialects . Some dialects of languages that you can then test and say OK does this dialect match what you speak . And so this is a good place to go to get recordings of Scripture to do research on people groups I recommend . Joshua project web site . I also recommend Ethnologue languages of the world . And if you want extra-Biblical and biblical resources discipleship resources together in one place the digital Bible Society DBMSs dot org has treasuries or libraries of content that is discipleship content available for people in a variety of languages major languages of the world but also bundled with minority languages for in the same area where those languages are spoken as a language of wider communication . So if you're working in a Hindi context you might go to their Hindi treasures and find a collection of discipleship materials and minority language scriptures all bundled together that are appropriate to that context . So a pastor in that area might get a lot of benefit out of having these treasures . One . One thing that commonly happens if you're trying to share the gospel with somebody who's an immigrant in another language you might say OK I want to be able to show them in two columns and I want to look in English and I want them to look in their language so I'll keep the NIV here and we'll say let's look at Hindi for example and say the person speaks Hindi . Let's go ahead and search by language and we'll will look for Hindi and there are three possibilities so we select this Hindi and you can now talk to the person and say OK let's read this together and you can do a bible study in two languages at the same time using in script Greek which is produced by the digital Bible Society . These are just some of the great resources that exist in the world today that we can be using to share the gospel with people in other languages when we come across somebody who speaks a language or is from a different country and we ask them hey what language do you speak . We can share Scripture with them in their language . We can text links to them we can share apps with them we can show them scripture side by side with them and study the Bible together with them .
