Erin Heim's book, Adoption in Galatians and Romans: Contemporary Metaphor Theories and the Pauline Huiothesia Metaphors is expensive.
This podcast about it and about the understanding of metaphor behind it (mainly from a philosophy of language and cognitive linguistics framework) is free and interesting: http://onscript.study/podcast/erin-heim-adoption-in-galatians-and-romans/

Given the importance and ubiquity of metaphors in biblical texts, and the challenges associated with their translation, anyone working in Bible translation should have plenty of incentive to try to keep up on current understandings of metaphor and how they work. This isn't the last word, but should be helpful to many.

Hi Roy, I've just gone to try a post that was made some weeks ago, and it is not working. So, there seems to be a problem with the system. Not sure how to report that, if the system is down? If you had a working link on the metaphor theory you could send to me that would be appreciated. ...
