BT Training and Development CoP with Bryan Harmelink

Hi folks,

The next Bible Translation Training and Development Community of Practice will be on 18th August, and will provide a chance to hear from Bryan Harmelink about the Language & Translation in the Mission of God curriculum that he has been developing, which is the basis for various initiatives he is supporting.

The  curriculum has been developed to contribute to the training and formation of translators and translation facilitators in the 21st century. It was created with conscious awareness of current realities in the global Church and the need for a foundation of missiological and biblical-theological reflection. The courses in this curriculum focus on an approach to translation for speakers and signers as translators, building on an understanding of their multilingual practices and tacit language-use knowledge.

The session will be held on EMDC online, at two different times:

BTTD CoP – East (1030 UTC) https://emdc.online/go/876

BTTD CoP – West (1530 UTC) https://emdc.online/go/877

As always there will also be time to connect with each other around the presentation and explore implications for your own work.

Hope to see you there,

Phil
