Multimodal Bible Translation Community of Practice

I am excited to share that we have a community space set up on the EMDC Academy online platform. This will give us a space that can include all modes of translation. Using the EMDC online platform will also allow us to keep the recordings available online. You can sign up by registering at (https://emdc.academy/list/1803) and clicking the "subscribe to this series" button.

It is my hope and prayer that this will be a space where we can share successes, struggles, experiences and encourage one another in all aspects of multimodal translation. If you know of someone who would be interested in participating in this Community of Practice, please feel free to share this invitation with them.

The first meeting will take place on August 12, 2025 at 9:00am CDT (Dallas). This is the same time slot that the Landscape of Practice used to meet, the second Tuesday of each month. The topic for the first meeting is "The Origins of the Spoken English Bible and Unique Challenges of OBT in America." The Spoken English Bible translation team will be sharing about their project and the unique challenges that they have faced.
