OBT Reading Group 1st Session

We are starting an OBT themed reading group. The aim of this group is to read an article, paper or book related to the topic of OBT or Multimodality and then come together to discuss it in a group. It is my hope that these conversations will lead us to deeper thinking on the topics and perhaps even lead to more topics to explore. The first discussion will be on January 30 at 08:00 CST, 14:00 UTC, 19:30 India, and 21:00 Thailand.

While there are many great options for reading, we will start with an article in the recent The Bible Translator Volume 76, Issue #1 entitled “Performing Faithfully: Mechanisms of Fidelity in Oral Bible Translation” by Dr. Philip Ruge-Jones. The author will join us for the discussion group.

We have obtained permission to share the article for participants in the reading group. If you are interested in participating, please send me a message at kris_toler@sil.org to be added to the mailing list.
